The Goldhelms, also known as the Solari, are a distinct race of tall, humanoid beings who inhabit the Goldhelm Kingdom on the northeastern peninsula of Criozevan. Characterized by their striking golden eyes and ivory-blond hair, they initially diverged from the Folkwynd (human) population, forming a society predicated on technological advancement and strict order. They are best known as the sole inventors of "Holo-tech," a hard-light technology that replaces magic in their society, as they view traditional arcane arts as chaotic and strictly ban its practice within their borders.
Appearance: Goldhelms are genetically distinct from humans, standing taller at an average of over 6 feet. They almost exclusively possess fair skin, ivory-blond hair, and their signature golden eyes.
Lifespan: They live approximately 100 years.
Origins: Originally considered Folkwynd, they became their own race through self-imposed isolation, societal design, and military doctrine.
Social Structure: Society is organized into a rigid technocratic caste system. Status is defined by rank and utility, with roles such as Citizen Officer, Ascendant, and Architect.
Philosophy: They follow the "Path of Radiant Order," valuing perfection and advancement over spiritual beliefs in rebirth. They view themselves as superior to all other races and kingdoms.
Laws on Magic: Traditional magic is banned within the kingdom, and its use is punishable by public execution.
Holo-tech: Goldhelms utilize refined solar crystals (imported from Frada) to power their civilization. This technology creates "hard light" constructs used for shields, weapons, and infrastructure.
The Auric Vanguard: Their military is highly structured, featuring specialized units like "Brutes" (heavy frontline fighters with Holo-shields), "Archers" (using Holo-tech bows), and "Medics" who use tech-based healing support.
Government: The kingdom is a monarchy currently ruled by King Aldric of the Goldhelm Family, who resides in the "Gilded Cradle" castle in the capital city of Ovodon.
Isolationism: The kingdom functions as an autarky, aiming for total self-sufficiency. They maintain closed borders and are generally hostile or dismissive toward outsiders.
Strategic Alliances: Their only significant diplomatic relationship is with the Republic of Frada, to whom they export scientific research in exchange for resources and manufacturing support.
