Folkwynd (also known as Humans or by their endonym, Vellan) are the most widespread and adaptable race on the continent of Criozevan. Unlike the specialized evolutions of the Insectoids or the aquatic Ipadoras, the Folkwynd represent the "default" biological state of humanity following the Crimson Convergence. Renowned for their cultural diversity and rapid social mobility, they populate the major economic and military powers of the continent, including the Kingdom of Vacron, the Republic of Frada, and the Republic of Oredsey. They act as the geopolitical glue of Eldunary, often bridging the gaps between more isolationist races through diplomacy and trade.

Biological Traits

Physiology: Folkwynd possess a highly variable physiology with diverse skin tones, hair colors, and builds. They typically stand between 5.5 and 6.5 feet tall.
Lifespan: They have an average lifespan of approximately 85 years.
Evolution: During the Crimson Convergence (0 ACC), the red star caused rapid evolution across the planet; those who did not evolve into distinct species like the Tharnex or Ipadoras remained as Folkwynd. Note that the Goldhelms were formerly Folkwynd but diverged into a separate race through selective breeding, societal design, and technology.

Adaptability: The defining trait of the Folkwynd is their cultural adaptability. Unlike the rigid caste systems of the Goldhelms or the hive mind of the Tharnex, Folkwynd society varies drastically depending on the region.
